The Water System is regulated by New York State Health Department and enforced by Oneida County Health Department.
The Village of Waterville Water Department is responsible for maintenance of fire hydrants, water tank, water mains, curb stops and water meters. The water system consists of two production wells, located in the center of the Village. Each well can produce 350 GPM (Gallons per Minute.) The wells pump water to the 588,000-gallon storage tank that is used to supply water and fire protection to the Village and to a portion of the Town of Sangerfield. The water system includes 112 fire hydrants, of which 14 of the hydrants are privately owned and maintained. The water system has 688 water service connections.
