WHEN IS COURT HELD?
Civil Court is held the second Tuesday of each month at 5 PM.

Vehicle and Traffic Court & Penal Law is held the fourth Thursday of each month at 5 PM.

WHEN IS DA NIGHT?
The ADA is in court every fourth Thursday of the month.

HOW DO I FIND COURT?
Court is held at the Village Municipal Hall located at 122 Barton Ave in the village.

HOW DO I CONTACT THE JUDGE?
All communication with the judge must take place in court.

WHAT IF I CAN’T READ MY TICKET?
Call the police agency that issued the ticket and they will advise you of the correct date and court.

WHAT IF I DISAGREE WITH THE CHARGES ON THE TICKET?
The court is the judicial branch that interprets the law. Appear in court to plead your case and you will be advised of your options.

I JUST WANT TO MAIL IN THE TICKET AND PAY THE FINE. WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
Follow the procedure written on your ticket and if you wish to plead guilty, once the plea is received the judge will determine the fine and surcharge and you will receive the fine notice in the mail.

WHAT IF I WANT TO PLEAD NOT GUILTY?
Follow the procedure on your ticket.

CAN I FILE A SMALL CLAIM IN ANY COURT?
No, the small claim action can only be filed in the court that has jurisdiction where the defendant lives or works, or has a place of business.

WHAT IS THE LIMIT FOR A SMALL CLAIM?
To file a small claim in civil court it must involve no more than $5,000 in damages.
